Erin Cooley has been serving as an advocate for public education in Massachusetts for over a decade. Since earning her master's degree in Law and Public Policy from Northeastern University, Erin worked in many different capacities for the Boston Public Schools (BPS) including Senior Data Analyst and the Manager of Research, Evaluation and Partnerships. While employed in Boston, she was integral to the creation of the BPS Opportunity Index and the BPS School Quality Framework. Most recently, Erin led the Strategy and Performance department for the Public Schools of Brookline as the Senior Director of Data and Strategy. Under Erin's leadership, the department implemented new enrollment projection methodologies, streamlined data across district systems, upgraded the frequency and quality of district communications, increased the use of data inquiry within and across schools, and created data dashboards for district and school leaders to be used as important tools for decision making. Beginning July 2020, Erin also served as the Chief of Staff to the Brookline Superintendent and was a co-lead responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating the reopening of school in fall 2020.
Erin also holds a B.A. in Political Science from Trinity College in Connecticut and lives in Greater Boston with her husband and two young boys.
