Don Weigel is a resident of Ward 6 and has over 15 years of experience managing political and non-profit campaigns and communications strategies around the country at the local, state, and national level.

Don has previously served as a press secretary, communications director, field director, fundraiser, grassroots organizer, event manager, issue advocacy director, campaign manager, director of paid media, and chief strategist for dozens of issue advocacy and political campaigns for municipal, state, federal, and presidential candidates stretching across more than ten states. He has trained activists, elected officials, and non-profit organizations at more than seventy-five trainings in over twenty-five states, even founding and running his own statewide training program.

He knows that a good education can set a student up for a healthy, safe, and financially secure life but our system remains riddled with inequities that we must dismantle to provide our students with a just and equitable education. Therefore, Don is laser-focused on ensuring there are education champions in public office working on their behalf.

Originally from Buffalo, NY, Don is a diehard fan of the Bills and a chicken wing aficionado. He is also the proud parent of a beagle named “Eisenhower.”
