Meredith develops and implements strategy to elect, re-elect, and cultivate candidates and elected officials who serve as leaders on equity and excellence in education across the Commonwealth. She began her career in education as a 7th grade Reading-Language Arts and English teacher in San Antonio, Texas with Teach for America and holds a 7-12 ELA and ESL teaching certification. Prior to joining DFER, she managed campaigns at the Texas Public Charter Schools 501c(4) sister organization, Charter Schools Now (CSN). During her time with CSN, Meredith supported recruitment efforts on behalf of dozens of pro-student candidates and helped to reshape the State Board of Education to include a majority of education reformers.
Most recently, she worked as a junior lobbyist at Steptoe LLP (formerly Steptoe & Johnson) in Washington, D.C. Meredith worked with clients to advance congressional outreach, designed and implemented advocacy strategies, and advocated on their behalf on Capitol Hill and at federal agencies. She also served as an intern in the U.S. Department of Education’s Office of Legislation and Congressional Affairs and in the U.S. Senate during her college years.
Meredith is a native New Englander and graduate of the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester. At Holy Cross, Meredith double majored in classics and political science and served as student body president her senior year. She has deep roots across the Commonwealth and enjoys supporting candidates doing great work on behalf of all students, families, and educators in Massachusetts.
