(NEW YORK, NY, November 6, 2024) Jorge Elorza, CEO of Democrats for Education Reform, released the following statement celebrating the important wins of the democratic party and continuing to push for education policy that improves outcomes for all students:

“Today we find ourselves at a moment that calls for both reflection and resolve. The election has been decided, and while the outcome may not be what many of us hoped for, our commitment to our values and each other remains steadfast. As educators and advocates, we must stand firm in our commitment to providing access to quality public education for all students. The challenges we face in education, economic opportunity, and justice demand that we keep working, building, and holding fast to our ideals.

As we move forward, we must remain engaged—ensuring every child, no matter where they come from, has a fair shot at success. I know many of us feel disappointed, but I’ve always believed that true progress is the work of many hands and many hearts. So let’s continue to reach out to one another, support one another, and defend the values that make our country strong.

This is not the time to give up; this is the time to dig deep and renew our commitment to the America we believe in. Together, we can still build a future that lifts every child and family, and where everyone has a place in the American story.”
