Protecting Your Vote During COVID-19

August 13, 2020

2020 is set to be one of the most crucial elections in the history of our country—up and down the ballot. Yet, it is also one of the most trying years our country has ever experienced, too, with the onset of COVID-19 pandemic.  It’s too soon to understand the full impact the coronavirus will have on every aspect of life, but it’s clear that it will be far reaching and long-lasting.

That is why we’ve restructured our approach to building campaign efforts, taking what’s traditionally worked in previous years and refitting those principles within today’s reality.

First and foremost is the safety of volunteers, staff, and voters. Thanks to technology, this has become easier than ever through social media and texting platforms—as well as through tried and true methods of over-the-phone and good old handwritten notes. We’ve been able to ensure that communities feel truly heard by campaigns, and that their thoughts and concerns are being duly addressed—just as the candidates’ are being reciprocally expressed—despite being unable to meet face to face.

Below, you can find a downloadable PDF of our best practices for ensuring the democratic process—and all parties’ health and safety— is secure during the continuation of COVID-19.
