This Guy's a Rising Star – Reformer of the Month
July 22, 2014
This muggy July weather isn’t the only thing that’s heating up. Aaron Marquez, our July Reformer of the Month, is running in the Democratic primary for an Arizona Senate seat in South Phoenix on August 26 and he needs your help today.
Early voting starts in just 9 days. Click here to donate $25 or more right now to help Aaron with a last minute push!
An Afghanistan War veteran and AmeriCorps alum, Aaron has committed his life to helping others. He will make education a priority if elected, fighting to improve AZ’s schools and create jobs in his community. As a proud product of Arizona’s public school system, he understands the importance of ensuring all kids have access to a high-quality education and are college and career-ready.
But his race will be tough. He’s running against Catherine Miranda, a sitting elected official who has already received over $20K in support from dark money groups.
Republicans currently hold the majority in the AZ Senate, but Democrats are fighting hard to take control this cycle and Aaron would be a crucial figure to have on our bench. He’s a rising star, and he needs your help as fellow progressive Democrats to win this seat.
We’ve got 9 days to help our Reformer of the Month kick this race into high gear. Help Aaron make a difference for AZ’s kids by donating $25 or more today.
Appreciate your help,
Joe
P.S. Send some positive vibes to Alisha Morgan, another one of our Reformers of the Month in a runoff election today for GA state superintendent of education. And if you live in GA, don’t forget to vote!
