Current ERN advisor and former U.S. Senator Mary Landrieu (D-LA) released the following statement on today’s news of Secretary Arne Duncan’s departure:

He was a leader open to new ideas but firm on his call for excellence and true opportunity for every student. His leadership at the Education Department will be missed, but I have confidence he will stay fully engaged in this important challenge for our country.”
